Compass is Here! Here's What Happens Next.

Over the past several weeks, I've shared a series of reflections about clarity, direction, momentum, and the small steps that help us move forward.

None of those articles were really about Compass.

At least not directly.

They were about the questions that shaped it.

Today, I'm excited to finally share where those questions led us.

Compass is here! 🎉

It started with a simple belief

When we first began talking about Compass, we weren't trying to build another assessment.

We weren't trying to create another dashboard filled with scores, charts, or recommendations.

We were trying to answer a much simpler question.

How do we help people confidently take the next step?

That question became our north star.

Every product conversation, every design decision, and every piece of feedback eventually came back to it.

What Compass became

The more we listened, the more we realized that people weren't looking for more information.

They were looking for guidance.

They wanted to understand where they stand today.

They wanted clarity around what mattered most.

And they wanted confidence that the next step they were taking was the right one.

That's what Compass became.

A guidance system designed to help people:

  • Know where they stand.
    • Know what to do next.
      • Stay ahead—not behind.

        Simple in concept.

Much harder to build than it sounds.

        More than an assessment

One of the biggest shifts in our thinking happened when we stopped viewing the assessment as the destination.

Instead, we started thinking of it as the beginning.

        • The assessment creates awareness.
          • The insights provide clarity.
            • The recommendations create direction.
              • The playbooks help build momentum.

Together, those experiences are designed to help people keep moving forward—not just understand themselves better.

                Building Compass changed my perspective

As Head of Product, I've had the opportunity to work with an incredible team and speak with people navigating all kinds of challenges.

One thing I've learned through those conversations is that growth isn't usually held back by a lack of ambition.

It's often held back by uncertainty.

                • Not knowing where to begin.
                  • Not knowing what deserves your attention first.
                    • Not knowing whether you're making progress.

Those observations shaped Compass just as much as any roadmap or feature request.

                      This is only the beginning

Launching a product is an exciting milestone.

But it's also the start of a new chapter.

                      The real learning begins now.

Over the coming months, we'll continue listening, learning, and improving Compass alongside the people who use it.

Some of the best ideas we've built have come directly from conversations with our community.

I have a feeling that trend is just getting started.

                      Thank You

If you've followed this reflection series, read the blogs, shared feedback, tested early versions, or simply encouraged our team along the way... Thank you.

Building products is never the work of one person.

It's the result of countless conversations, ideas, experiments, and iterations.

I'm excited to see where Compass goes from here.

More importantly... I'm excited to see where it helps all of you go next. 👏

                      This Week's Reflection

If you paused for a few minutes today and asked yourself one question...

"What's the one thing that would help me move forward most right now?"

                      ...what would your answer be?

Sometimes clarity begins with a single honest question.

                      Move Forward
                      Clarity
                      Compass
