I have over 12 years of experience working in the mental health field as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Educational Psychologist. I own a private practice mental health company and am a managing partner with an Autism testing company. I have been working as a leader in the field of mental health for over 5 years and love supervising and coaching up and coming clinicians and would be owners. I love "talking shop" especially about testing (e.g., Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, executive functioning, etc.). I also enjoy training and collaborating with clinicians and technicians in the mental health field.
I have clients who "graduate" from therapy and then come back years later. This really helps me with my own imposter syndrome at times. My favorite bittersweet moments come from clients when they get a diagnosis for the first time and the tears that flow from a mixed bag of "finally" to fear of what comes next. I feel very honored to be in that space with clients in their vulnerability and help them see the possibilities instead of the limitations.
On a personal note, I have raised 7 children and home schooled a few of them to graduation and some just part time and loved it! I love the beach (I live in FL), music (I am a singer and pianist and write songs and perform), swimming in my pool and hanging out with people. I get energized when I interact with others!
I offer a brief 15 minute consultation to see if I can provide what you are looking for and see if we "fit". Other sessions for mentoring or coaching start at 30 minutes to an hour. The sessions are focused on you and what you want to gain from the experience. I am very down to earth and use a lot of humor because life is hard! I want to empower you for success and strive for resilience and growth. I am more of a guide than a director, helping you navigate your goals and passions.
