Sophie Capshaw-Mack is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist, educator, and strategic consultant with over six years of experience guiding students, creatives, and changemakers toward transformational opportunities. Her work is informed by a deep commitment to cultivating bold ideas, authentic expression, and socially conscious innovation.
Sophie holds a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University, where she was an Environmental Fellow at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full-tuition merit-based scholarship, graduating Phi Beta Kappa (top 1% of her class). While at UNC, she was awarded the prestigious Burch Fellowship and served as a Parr Center for Ethics Fellow.
Sophie has worked as a climate consultant to the Government of Iceland, an XR consultant to the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and an admissions consultant for dozens of families. She has also written and directed a documentary film in partnership with Duke University and has authored articles for the Columbia Climate School.
Sophie’s art practice has earned financial support from New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), United States Artists, Creative Pinellas, and the North Carolina Arts Council. Her artwork—which blends technology, environmental themes, and philosophical speculation—has been exhibited in six countries across three continents.
Sophie has been recognized by the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) and featured in several media outlets including The Guardian, The Associated Press, and Baidu (百度).
