Current Legal Analyst and Head of Communications at Equate Advisory, working to ensure that ethical practice and compliance are at the root of South African innovation and growth. Background: During my time studying law at the University of Pretoria, I developed a strong interest in venture capital, AI, and company law. I was recognized on the Dean's Merit List for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021) for outstanding academic performance. I gained valuable work experience as a legal consultant at n+1, an impact venture partner that invests in social enterprises and innovators. I also had the opportunity to work with Equate Advisory, another venture capital firm, as a legal intern, where I supported client negotiations, meetings, and mandates. I also assisted with legal due diligence, drafting and reviewing contracts, policies and agreements, and conducting research on various legal topics. Through these experiences, I have developed core competencies in legal research, analysis, communication, and problem-solving, as well as a keen understanding of the legal and business aspects of venture capital.
