Amy Parker is a Program Director with the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Development. UNC Executive Development develops and inspires organizational leaders to generate actionable insights, address major gaps and opportunities, and drive positive change. We deliver customized learning programs, featuring our renowned faculty network, for teams of organizational leaders from C-suite to entry-level management. We collaborate closely with our clients to create learning and development experiences that drive organizational change and achieve lasting results. We enable inquiry, innovation, and impact by building strong relationships with our clients. Amy has more than 20 years of public and private sector leadership experience and is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. Her coaching clients have included public and private sector leaders; individuals and groups: civilians and military officers, hospital administrators, finance, IT and HR professionals from government and companies such as Boeing, Warner Bros., The Four Seasons, and Goodyear. She has coached Senior Executive Service Candidates, providing guidance for writing, and refining their Executive Core Qualifications, and has served on Senior Executive candidate screening boards. As a coach, she focuses on fostering her clients' leadership development and personal fulfillment. Her personal motto is “Semper Disco” – “I’m always learning.” Amy was a US government civil servant from 2006 until 2021 and held progressively complex and impactful positions at the Departments of Navy, Defense, and Veterans Affairs. Amy was the Chief of Staff and Executive Director for Operations for multiple Chief Financial Officers at VA, where she shaped successful budget requests, Congressional messaging, and financial reporting. She retired from Senior Executive Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs, after also serving as the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) and Executive Director of the Human Capital Services Center. During her time as CLO, she created the Department’s first Learning Podcast (reaching the top 25 of government podcasts in its first year), gave a VA TEDx Talk titled “The Future is Disco” about the Department’s Leadership Framework. Amy holds a Master of Business Administration from the Citadel, a Bachelor of Science from Johnson & Wales, coaching training from the Co-Active Training Institute, as well as both the Harvard Senior Executive Fellows program and the University of North Carolina Senior Executive training.
