Currently serving as a Mi’kmaq Student Support Worker and Indigenous Teacher with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, they are dedicated to supporting Indigenous students, promoting culturally responsive education, and strengthening community connections within schools.

Before transitioning into education and consulting leadership, Melissa built a strong foundation in finance and customer service, including over five years as an Assistant Financial Analyst with CIBC. Earlier career experience in hospitality, retail management, tourism, and operations helped develop their strengths in leadership, communication, team development, and client relations.
