I'll never forget being at the height of my career in marketing and brand management, facing some of the most complex leadership challenges. Some were layered with the nuances of internal politics, and others presented conflicts with my gut instincts and, in some cases, personal values. It would have been so helpful to have the option to speak with a wise, neutral, empathetic, and compassionate third party dedicated to my betterment and growth.

I so often remember wishing I had a "personal genie" who could help me with decision-making, staying calm, and responding both wisely and courageously. Little did I know at the time that genie already existed inside myself. But, WOW, it could have been great to talk with someone regularly! Someone who could not only hold space to LISTEN to all the angles of my experiences, but also recognize the true fears, desires, motivations, and belief systems formed from years of life experience that were either propelling me forward or holding me back.

What I wouldn't have done to have my very own personal cheerleader and challenger, all rolled into one—a person dedicated to my improvement as a leader and a human being. Someone who understood the depth of how my work fed into my life's purpose. Someone who trusted my ability to make my own decisions with the know-how for how to tap into my higher wisdom. Someone who could help me connect the personal aspects of my life with my professional development (and vice versa).

I wasn't just looking for a mentor or even a coach; I was looking for a partner who could understand me on a spiritual and emotional level, not just a professional level. Someone who believed in my ability to break barriers and become anything I wanted. Someone who I felt was genuinely on my side and would take the time to help me explore the lessons and opportunities from all my experiences. More importantly, I could have used a dedicated believer in my full potential—a person committed to helping me rediscover my essence—to awaken my inner sleeping giant.

Recognizing a partner like this was hard to come by, so I decided to develop an executive coaching practice myself. One that operates well beyond the realm of personal and professional development, extending into spiritual growth. I see "our work" as one of our greatest avenues for uncovering our life purpose and human potential. I feel deeply dedicated and called to help people leverage their professional experiences into meaningful mirrors that help us evolve—not just as professionals and leaders, but as human beings with limited time here on Earth.
